Aschach has a historic town center with burgher houses from the Middle Ages, with facades and beautiful courtyards from the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods.
Catholic Parish Church of Aschach on the Danube St. John the Baptist: Around 1490, the late Gothic successor to a church first mentioned in a document in 1371 was built. The high altar is crowned by the Danube cross, which is revered as having healing powers. It was brought ashore by two shipmen during a flood in 1693. The sickly restorer of the cross was cured during his work. In 1784, by a government decree of Emperor Joseph II, Aschach was separated from the mother church Hartkirchen and elevated to an independent parish. In 1976 the church was renovated and extended according to plans by Clemens Holzmeister.

Aschach Castle on the Danube: The castle is the former seat of the Counts of Harrach. The main wing of the 16th century castle has archways on the courtyard side on all three floors. The east wing was built by Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt in 1709, as well as the high altar of the castle chapel. The castle is privately owned.
Aschach Power Station: The power station, built between 1959 and 1964, was formerly the largest run-of-river power station in Europe.
Schopper and Fishery Museum: The so-called Schoppers at that time were responsible for making the boats, which were needed for shipping, watertight by means of moss. In this museum you can learn about the art of making moss and about the flora and fauna of the Danube wetlands. The museum presents the history of the market in Aschach in connection with the tradition of chopping and navigation on the Upper Danube. The Schoppermuseum presents the historical craft of Schopperei as well as the social and cultural environment of this craft guild. In addition, the last original Zehner Trauner is on display. The Fishery Museum shows the development of commercial and recreational fishing in the Upper Austria region with special reference to the Upper Danube.
