Aldrans is a municipality in the district of Innsbruck-Land in the Austrian state of Tyrol (Austria). The municipality lies in the judicial district of Innsbruck. Aldrans is located on the low mountain terrace southeast adjacent to Innsbruck. The name comes from the old field name Allrainer Veld, which was mentioned in a document in 1312 as Alrains.Aldrans has mainly the function of a residential community due to its proximity to Innsbruck. On the outskirts of the village the streetcar line 6 passes by with a stop, but more important for public transport access are regional buses of the low mountain range.
