Techelsberg am Wörther See is a municipality in the district of Klagenfurt-Land in Carinthia. The municipal area of Techelsberg extends over the southern slope of the Ossiacher Tauern to the northern shore of Lake Wörthersee. With the Forstsee another lake belongs to the municipal area.

Marble quarry
In the past, the so-called Pörtschach marble was quarried, which is now exhausted. Nevertheless, the quarry is still in operation and can be clearly seen from the southern highway. Pörtschach marble is white with pink streaks. This stone was used in many places in Klagenfurt, most clearly in the Lendhafen. Since no identically patterned marble has been found anywhere in the world, objects made of Pörtschach marble in Klagenfurt fetch collector's prices.
