Siegendorf (Croatian Cindrof, Hungarian Cinfalva) is a market town with 3248 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2023) in the district of Eisenstadt-Umgebung
in Burgenland in Austria. A relatively large proportion of the municipality's population are members of the Burgenland Croats ethnic group.
The municipality is located in northern Burgenland, 7 km from the provincial capital Eisenstadt on the border with Hungary and close to Lake Neusiedl.
Before the birth of Christ, the area was part of the Celtic kingdom of Noricum and belonged to the area surrounding the Celtic hilltop settlement of Burg on the Schwarzenbacher Burgberg.
Later, under the Romans, today's Siegendorf was part of the province of Pannonia. The village was first mentioned in 1254 as Peresnje and in 1343 as Siendorf.
Like the whole of Burgenland, the village belonged to Hungary (German West Hungary) until 1920/21.
