Lake Neusiedl offers something for everyone: discover the unspoiled nature, enjoy the magnificent view of the water or explore the region with its diverse recreational opportunities.
Rust (Hungarian Ruszt) is a free city (corresponding to a statutory city of other provinces) in Burgenland in Austria.
With 1984 inhabitants, Rust is the smallest administrative district and the smallest statutory town in Austria. Rust is known as a town of storks and a wine-growing community. Rust has belonged to the Austrian Burgenland since 1921 and has had the town charter since 1681, when it was elevated to the status of a Royal Hungarian Free Town.
Old Town: The entire picturesque old town area of Rust is now a listed building. The numerous town houses from the 16th to 19th centuries have well-kept Renaissance, Baroque or historicist facades with beautiful window and portal frames, oriels, coat of arms and stucco decorations.
