Welcome to Rohr im Gebirge!

Rohr im Gebirge - surrounded by the mountains of the Alpine foothills Schneeberg, Rax, Unterberg and Jochart, Rohr im Gebirge is located at 692 m above sea level.

Rohr im Gebirge invites you to enjoy the beautiful landscape on the two newly built theme trails, to immerse yourself in the adventure world of the forest and the water and to get to know old tales. On long walks you can find peace and quiet, learn about flora and fauna, look at the surroundings from the lookout tower and watch the last charcoal burners at work. Along the trails, family-friendly inns invite you to refresh yourself with organic products from local farmers.

For sports enthusiasts Rohr im Gebirge offers, in addition to the themed and hiking trails, a tennis court, the "Biedermeier Cycle Path" and in winter cross-country ski trails and a family ski area with snowmaking and floodlights.

 

Rohr im Gebirge is a municipality with 439 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022) in the district of Wiener Neustadt-Land in Lower Austria. Rohr im Gebirge is located in the upper Schwarzatal, which is counted to the industrial quarter of Lower Austria, at the Zellenbach.

In 2006 the two theme paths were opened:

    Workshop Forest and Water - This theme trail leads through the forests around the village and is always accompanied by the streams.
    Sagenumwobener Tümpfelweg - The stations along the trail tell of legends and local stories and tales, such as the origin saga of Rohr, "The Sunken City".
