The natural monument Hintersee (1313 m) at the head of the Felbertal valley is a popular excursion destination and starting point for high alpine mountain hikes. The lake was formed in 1495 by a huge landslide. From the "Gamsblick-Alm" on the far shore of the lake, you can observe chamois in the wild with the naked eye.
