Höfen is a municipality with 1257 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022[1]) in the district of Reutte in Tyrol (Austria). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Reutte. Höfen is located southwest of the district capital Reutte in the Reutten Basin on the left side of the Lech River. The municipal area extends to the 1938 m high Hahnenkamm with the skiing area Höfener Alpe.
Culture and sights
The Catholic Filial Church Maria Hilf was built in 1692. Enlarged in 1705, the church was expanded again from 1741 to 1760, and the tower was added. The painting of the Assumption on the church ceiling was painted in 1800 by church painter Josef Anton Köpfle who came from Höfen. In addition, there is the Marienkapelle, which is located on the Unterer Platte Weg and was built in 1876, and historic wayside shrines in the village near the Oberhornberg and the Schollenwiesen lift.[2] In Höfen is the Hannibal publishing house, which specializes in non-fiction books about rock and pop musicians.
