Welcome to Arnfels

The market town of Arnfels is located in a scenic setting at an altitude of 317 meters above sea level, nestled in the wooded hills.

High above the village the castle is enthroned and announces a past rich in tradition. From there, the visitor enjoys a wonderful view of the entire market with its dominating parish church, whose architecture and altars are witnesses of the South Styrian Baroque. Many beautiful town houses in the old town center remind of the economic importance of the former judicial district.

Today, the market town of Arnfels is increasingly distinguishing itself as a cultural center.

The Arnfels Castle Plays have existed for 30 years and invite the public to open-air performances every year in July.

The cultural club (Forum A) organizes concerts on a regular basis, every year in September the hobby artists' market takes place, and numerous other events complete the rich cultural offer.

Marked hiking trails lead from the village center into the beautiful countryside. From the mountain range in the south, which forms the border to Slovenia, one can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view to the Bacherngebirge, over the Speikkogel to Graz and further into the wine country.

In the north, the Eichberg with its well-tended vineyards and fine wines from the Buschenschenken is an attractive hiking destination.

Newly built bike paths complement the recreational offerings.

In the market itself there is a swimming pool with two large fresh water pools, and there are also two well-kept tennis courts available for our visitors.
