Windischgarsten is a market town in the Austrian state of Upper Austria in the south of the district of Kirchdorf in the Traunviertel. Since 1964 Windischgarsten is a climatic health resort and has a historic village center.

The Lederhosen Meeting is an internationally known folk festival that regularly takes place in Windischgarsten on the last weekend in July.
Sports

Windischgarsten has a modern sports field, which is also used by international soccer clubs for summer training weeks. For example, in July 2012, the 1st FC Cologne was a guest in Windischgarsten for a week. In Windischgarsten there is an outdoor pool and an indoor pool with sauna.

In addition, since 2011, Windischgarsten has hosted the annual Bergkaiser sports event, a team mountain race for mixed teams of three
