Spittal an der Drau is a municipality and also the seat of the district administration of the district of the same name in the province of Carinthia in Austria. The city in the intersection of Drautal, Liesertal, Millstätter See, Nockberge and Mölltal is the urban center of Upper Carinthia. Spittal is located between the Lurnfeld and the Lower Drau Valleys. Drauauen
West of Spittal are the Drauauen, a recreational and nature reserve on the northeastern bank of the Drau.
