Culture and sights

    Castle ruin Zöch
Parish Church of Altenberg near Linz: Stations of the Cross: Herbert Friedl has depicted Jesus' Way of the Cross on 15 panels in a way that is open to finding traces of suffering from all times in it. As a prologue to the Way of the Cross reads the text panel "Legacy", which recalls the social commitment of St. Elizabeth. As an epilogue, Mother Teresa stands as an example for many who have followed the call to "follow". The fragile material glass was used as the image carrier, as a symbol of the vulnerability of the human being. The blanks for the woodcut came from the barracks of the Mauthausen concentration camp. Wooden beams are also the basic motif on the panel paintings, whose number, color and shape vary. In some cases, real materials such as risers, cloth and nails were also incorporated into the design. Each station points to the Passion of Jesus with the Roman numeral and a time word.
