Stoob (Hungarian Csáva, Croatian Štuma) is a market town in the district of Oberpullendorf in Burgenland in Austria.
The municipality is located in central Burgenland in the Stooberbachtal valley. Stoob is the only village in the municipality. Before the birth of Christ, the area was part of the
Celtic kingdom of Noricum and belonged to the area surrounding the Celtic hilltop settlement of Burg on the Schwarzenbacher Burgberg. Later, under the
Romans, today's Stoob was located in the province of Pannonia. Like the whole of Burgenland, the town belonged to Hungary (German West Hungary) until 1920/21.
