Schönwies is a municipality in the district of Landeck in Tyrol (Austria). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Landeck. Schönwies is located in the Upper Inn Valley, between Landeck and Imst, on the eastern border of the district. Separated from the Landeck valley basin by the protruding rocky spur of Kronburg Castle, the village is geographically more likely to be assigned to the valley area west of Imst.
