Culture and sights
Berneck Castle
Catholic parish church Kauns St. James the Elder
Schranz Chapel: At the entrance to the village stands the Schranz Chapel with a crucifix, which was probably made by Andreas Kölle. The chapel was donated by Michael Schranz in 1639 as thanksgiving for having survived the plague.
Only a few houses survived the numerous village fires, one of which is the castle courtyard with paintings from around 1650.
Kaunerberger Wasserweg: The waterway runs through the municipal area of Kauns. It follows an irrigation canal, which was financed with subsidies from the Marshall Plan and was built between 1947 and 1954.[6] The trail leads through a thousand meter long unlit tunnel. In the south of Kauns, the "Szegediner Luis Steig" connects to the water trail.
