St. Leonhard am Hornerwald is a market town with 1094 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022) in the district of Krems-Land in Lower Austria. St. Leonhard am Hornerwald is located in the Waldviertel region of Lower Austria, about twenty kilometers north of Krems on the Danube.

Culture and sights

    Rundersburg Castle: The ruins of Rundersburg Castle are located northwest of St. Leonhard. The castle was built in 1150, but was abandoned and decayed from 1300. Parts of the former keep are still preserved from the castle.
    Catholic parish church St. Leonhard am Hornerwald hl. Leonhard: The late baroque parish church on a hill overlooking the landscape was built around 1770.

    Craft Museum: The craft museum is staffed on demonstration Sundays by volunteers who demonstrate various crafts as they were practiced in the past. In the same building there is a museum cafe.
