Nikitsch (Croatian File?, Hungarian Füles) is a municipality in Burgenland in the district of Oberpullendorf in Austria with 1427 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2023),
of which around 87 percent belong to the Burgenland Croats ethnic group. This makes Nikitsch the municipality with the largest proportion of Croats in Burgenland.
The municipality is located in central Burgenland on the Nikitschbach river just four kilometers from the Hungarian border, fifteen kilometers east of Oberpullendorf
and ten kilometers south of Deutschkreutz. Before the birth of Christ, the area was part of the Celtic kingdom of Noricum and belonged to the area surrounding the Celtic hilltop settlement of Burg auf dem Schwarzenberg.

mention in 1150 as Uhec, Croats and Slovenes were mentioned in Nikitsch.
