The poet Anton Wildgans immortalized Mönichkirchen under the name "Übelbach" in his epic poem "Kirbisch oder Der Gendarm, die Schande und das Glück". Although he drew a far from flattering picture of the inhabitants in it, he is still commemorated today by annual readings as one who is almost a local. He is also still highly revered among the local population, not least because of his often testified attachment to Mönichkirchen. Thus, for some time now, there has been a newly laid Anton Wildgans Path, which is dedicated to the person of the poet.
In Mönichkirchen there is the W.P.M. Youth Association Mönichkirchen for the promotion of youth culture as well as two music associations of a traditional nature. Since 2006, the youth association has organized the annual rock music event "Rocky Mountain Festival" in summer.
The village renewal association Mönichkirchen and the village renewal association Tauchen deal with matters of local tourism as well as cultural matters.
