Kleinarl is a municipality in the province of Salzburg in the district of St. Johann im Pongau in Austria. The municipality is located in the Pongau region of Salzburg Land on the edge of the Hohe Tauern National Park.

Culture and sights

The Gothic parish church of St. Lawrence was consecrated in 1443. The altar was created in 1775 by the sculptor Petrus Schmid. From 1984 to 1986 the baroque extension of 1775 was demolished and a new extension was built according to the plans of the architect Heinz Tesar.
Parish Hall Kleinarl
In 2010 the new parish office was opened. It is a contemporary building with an autonomous wooden body above the first floor. In addition to the municipal office, the building also houses the office of the Kleinarl Tourism Association as well as a multifunctional meeting room and the customs group room. The building, which was awarded the Holzbaupreis Salzburg 2011, was planned by architect Kathrin Aste. It was executed by the Kleinarl carpentry firm Guggenberger.
