Haugschlag is a municipality with 480 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022) in the district of Gmünd in Lower Austria.Haugschlag, the northernmost municipality in Austria, is located on the Reißbach stream in the northwestern corner of the Waldviertel region of Lower Austria, on the state border with the Czech Republic. At the confluence of the Rottaler Bach and the Neumühlbach, opposite the former Czech barracks Peršlák, is the northernmost point of Austria.
