Damüls is a municipality characterized by tourism and a parish village of the same name in the district of Bregenz in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. Like, for example, Lech, Ebnit or Mittelberg, Damüls is one of the Vorarlberg Walser villages.Damüls is the highest vacation resort between the Bregenzerwald and the Great Walser Valley and is located in the westernmost province of Austria, Vorarlberg, in the district of Bregenz at an altitude of 1423 meters.

Culture and sights

The FIS Ski Museum Damüls displays exhibits on local history and the long history of winter sports in Damüls. Admission is free of charge.
Catholic parish church Damüls hl. Nikolaus: The church is located in an exposed position above the settlement and is surrounded by the cemetery to the SW. It was rebuilt in 1484 by Rolle Maiger from Röthis on the site of a chapel mentioned in a document in 1392 in the Gothic architectural style and was baroqueized between 1693 and 1733. The frescoes uncovered in 1950 depict the so-called "Armenbibel". Lime tuff was partially used for the building.[6]
