Assling is a municipality with 1756 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022) in the district of Lienz (East Tyrol) in the Austrian state of Tyrol (Austria). The municipality of Assling is located in the East Tyrolean part of the Pustertal valley, which is flowed through by the Drava river. It is located a good 10 kilometers west of Lienz.
