Aigen im Ennstal is a municipality in the district of Liezen and judicial district of Liezen in Styria. Aigen im Ennstal is located in the Styrian Enns Valley on the right (south of the Enns), about 10 km southwest of Liezen, directly opposite the confluence of the Hinterbergtal (from Ausseerland) into the Enns Valley.

Culture and sights

    The Inselberg Kulm near Aigen with its burial grounds is assumed to be the central site of the prehistoric Eastern Alps and thus of the early salt trade.
    Pichlarn Castle, initially manorial from around 1009 until the middle of the 12th century, then monastic with Admont Abbey, is now used as an upscale hotel with a golf course.
    The Puttererschloss as a medieval fortified farm stands on a hill above the Putterersee.
    The Filialkirche Aigen im Ennstal was built from 1990 to 1992 according to plans by architect Volker Giencke on the thoroughfare of the village of Aigen.
