Maria Anzbach (until July 2022 officially Maria-Anzbach) is a market town with 3290 inhabitants in the district of Sankt Pölten-Land in Lower Austria.
Maria Anzbach is located in the Mostviertel south-east of Neulengbach in the valley of the Anzbach, a tributary of the Große Tulln. The two highest elevations
are the Buchberg (469 m) with the Buchbergwarte in the north and the Kohlreithberg (516 m) in the south.
A settlement in the Bronze Age was proven by the excavation of a rampart on the Buchberg. On the Eichberg, burial urns, decorative vessels,
coins and fibulae from the Roman period were found on the Eichberg. Maria Anzbach was first mentioned in a document as Amizinesbach on April 29, 998.
