Tannheim is a municipality in the district of Reutte in Tyrol (Austria). Tannheim is the main village of the Tannheimer Tal valley, which is flowed through by the Vils river. It forms a cluster village surrounded by individual hamlets that have grown into larger settlements through recent settlement expansions.

Culture and sights

    The parish church of St. Nicholas was first mentioned in a document in 1377. After demolition of the dilapidated Gothic church, today's mighty Baroque church was built in 1722. The ground plan is based on the Innsbruck Cathedral and is the second largest country church in the diocese of Innsbruck after Neustift in the Stubaital.
