Lake Neusiedl offers something for everyone: discover the unspoiled nature, enjoy the magnificent view of the water or explore the region with its diverse recreational opportunities.
Andau (Hungarian Mosontarcs, Tarcsa) is a market town in the district of Neusiedl am See in Burgenland, Austria. Andau is the only village in the municipality. It is located on the northwestern edge of the Pannonian Plain.
Andau is the perfect vacation resort for small explorers and big connoisseurs and offers not only pure relaxation and enjoyment, but also lots of fun and action. The "sunny village of Austria" with 2,000 hours of sunshine per year offers ideal conditions for carefree bathing days and pure relaxation at Andau's "Pusztasee". The well-developed network of bike paths invites you to bike tours in the breathtaking nature of the National Park Lake Neusiedl - Seewinkel or to the new "Bridge of Andau", over which you can cross the Einserkanal and the border to Hungary.
Around Andau
Geographically, Andau is the ideal starting point for excursions to the federal capital Vienna (approx. 60 min), to the Slovakian capital Bratislava (approx. 50 min) or to the Hungarian capital Budapest (approx. 120 min).
The baroque castle Halbturn, the Basilka Frauenkirchen and the village museum Mönchhof are three highlights of the region worth seeing, which are located in the immediate vicinity of Andau and can be reached in a few minutes by car or in the course of a nice bike tour by bike.
With the St. Martins Therme in Frauenkirchen and the Designer Outlet Center in Parndorf, two further visitor magnets have emerged, which are equally popular with locals and tourists and are known beyond the borders.
