Culture and sights

    The pilgrimage church Marterle is a chapel located at 1861 m above sea level on the southern slope of the Sadniggruppe. Its name comes from a cross that stood in its place before its construction. The chapel got its present shape through a new construction starting in 1904, which was completed two years later with the consecration.
    The late Gothic parish church of Rangersdorf had the oldest winged altar in Carinthia (1425, today in the Diocesan Museum of Klagenfurt).
    The late Gothic, later Baroqueized daughter church of Lainach has a high altar from about 1670 and is dedicated to St. Margaret.
    In Lainach there is the iron, sulfur and radon containing Margarethenquelle.
    The massive waterfall of the Lamnitzbach (Zlapp, name of Slavic origin) is located in a gorge above Lamnitz that is difficult to access.
