Kitzbühel is a municipality with 8212 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022) in northeastern Tyrol, Austria. Kitzbühel is located about 95 kilometers east of the provincial capital Innsbruck in the Leukental valley on the Kitzbüheler Ache river in the middle of the Kitzbühel Alps and is the seat of the district administration of the district of the same name. The municipality is located in the judicial district of Kitzbühel. The sophisticated town is internationally known as one of the most important winter sports resorts in the Alps.

Museums and exhibitions
The Kitzbühel Museum offers all visitors an insight into the history and culture of the town and region of Kitzbühel. On the top floor of the building is the Alfons Walde Gallery, where 30 of his works are on display.
In the winter of 2004, the municipality succeeded in bringing the Buddy Bear exhibition to Kitzbühel, before it was shown - under the name The Art of Tolerance - in many cities around the world.
