Fügenberg is a municipality with 1457 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022) in the Zillertal Valley and belongs to the district of Schwaz in Tyrol (Austria). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Zell am Ziller.Fügenberg is one of the larger municipalities in the Zillertal in terms of area.

Culture and sights

Worth seeing is the Pankrazkirche, built from 1494 to 1497 in Gothic style. In September 1999, the Öxltal show gallery was opened to visitors at an altitude of 1783 meters.

Sports

The region Fügen-Fügenberg offers with the Spieljoch and Hochfügen two skiing areas. In addition to its importance as a winter sports center, Hochfügen is also the starting point of many mountain hikes, for example to the 2506 m high Gilfert or the 2762 m high Rastkogel.
