Culture and sights
Catholic Parish Church of St. Nicholas: The parish church is a Gothic building, later partly altered, on the northwestern edge of the village. The first documented mention dates back to 1512. The three-story porch tower with baroque onion helmet and lantern was completed in 1716.
Evangelical church (Tolerance Jubilee Church) west of the parish church was built in 1980-1981 and consecrated in 1981.
Porcia House in Gassen: The former keepers' house was owned by the Counts of Porcia from 1662 to 1848, seat of the keepers of the dominion of Afritz. The two-story Renaissance building with a former continuous transverse corridor on both floors and a shear rafter roof truss covered with alpine roof tile with a crested hip on both sides has projecting, open gable walls with decorated balustrades. The facades were created around 1785, but were redesigned in the 19th century.
